Year 2011 - Conditions of participation, assignment and participant selection
Conditions of participation in the X HWISS - July 21st to August 4th 2011
Enrollment is very easy – participants are required to fulfill only a few conditions:
- it´s necessary to be
* a sculptor working in wood, with the knowledge of creating sculptures in the open air
* a student of the University / School of Applied Arts - Sculpture Studio (the last year) working in wood, with a reference of her/his professor
- written application (download – PDF file – 69 KB, online application) and appendices
must be sent by 30th April 2011. It is required to send following appendices with the application (or no later than 30th April 2011):
* Documentation of woodworks (Photos - size 10x15, catalogue, eventually a link to personal website)
* Statues draft - sketch in the scale of 1:10
- consent with the deed of gift (a deed of gift template is available for download: PDF file – 30KB),
which confirms that the sculpture will become a possession of the town of Prostějov
Assignment
Sculpture in wood, preferably vertically compounded, a free motif. The sculpture will be placed in suitable setting chosen by Prostějov town.
How does the selection of participants work?
The selection of participants will be based on properly filled out and timely sent application in either Czech or English language. Application must be accompanied by documentation of past work, sculpture proposal (sketch in 1:10 scale) and declaration of retention of the artwork in the ownership of Prostějov town (all by conditions of participation in the symposium).
The actual selection will be done by the symposium commissionaires at the presence of a representative of the symposium organizers. An invitation to participation in the symposium will be sent by a regular mail or e-mail to chosen participants at least 30 days before the symposium commencement. The date and place will be declared in the invitation.
